Heavy Duty 4452 Sewing Machine
Alright let’s talk sewing machines. The Heavy Duty 4452 Sewing Machine by Singer was my very first home sewing machine and let me tell you, it’s perfect for beginners. Once you’ve learned the basic functions of how to operate a sewing machine and are ready to make your own creations, it’s very easy to utilize all the features. I prefer the non-computerized machines, because they are easier to have maintained and are generally easier to operate. To me, Singers are like the Toyotas of sewing machines - reliable, sturdy, and can easily be serviced. It comes with all the basic presser feet: All-Purpose Foot, Zipper Foot, Buttonhole Foot, seam ripper / lint brush, quilting guide, needles, bobbins, screwdriver, auxiliary spool pin, spool pin felt, soft-sided dust cover and four bonus Heavy Duty optimized accessories included: Even Feed / Walking Foot for layers of fabric, Non-Stick Foot for leather and vinyl, a 5-pack of Size 16 needles and a Clearance Plate for thick seams.
If you feel intimidated by all the additional presser feet and how they work, don’t be. There are endless tutorials out there to guide you in addition to the manual that comes in the box.
The additional pieces are located in a little compartment under the metal plate. I’ve heard stories from people thinking they were “jipped” out of missing pieces. They weren’t. When I told them where their “missing” pieces were, they were surprised and relieved.
You are investing into a machine that will last a lifetime, so please learn everything you can about it before thinking it is “broken”. Be prepared for OPERATOR ERRORS, meaning you. Learn, watch and listen to your machine while using it. Just like a car, if you don’t listen to it you won’t be able to identify errors that can easily be fixed.
Worth every penny.
